As you may know, logos on SUPs and surfboards are applied by placing a screen printing of the logo on a piece of sheer rice paper under the lamination. When the wet resin saturates the rice paper, the paper disappears leaving just the logo visible. Screen printing allows for very crisp, perfect imprints, and is perfect for highly graphical artwork with lots of fine lines, etc. Block printing on the other hand adds an organic twist to the prints; each one a unique convergence of paint and paper. We like how the random nature of the block print creates a dynamic balance when applied to the board, which is so precise in form.
