Bienvenidos a Summer!

Never mind that shady rodent Punxsutawney Phil, who this weekend predicted 6 more weeks of winter.  We're going with our man (err, groundhog) Monterey Philipe here, who has happily declared that winter is over (we don't see no stinking shadow)!  So put on your party sombrero, and let the sunshine in!

Monterey Philipe, the more optimistic predictor of winter's duration.

To celebrate Philipe's happy prediction, we're introducing a limited collection of our classic Mariposa Corta Mexican blouses with beautiful multi-color embroidery, called the "Mariposa Corta de Color":

XL Mexican Blouses Now in Stock!

We just wrapped up a batch of our newest style, the "Lijera Libre" Mexican peasant blouse.  "Libre" is Spanish for free, and perfectly describes the flowy and looser-fitting version of our iconic Lijera.  For our more voluptuous warm weather devotees, the Lijera Libre puts a very sexy exclamation point on any sunny summer outfit; and can be paired with a belt and worn as a tunic-length cover-up for our more petite sun worshipers.

As you know, one of the Lijera's most distinctive features is its split-sleeve detail, which we have updated for the Libre with a more robust scallop crochet trim which is joined so the sleeves remain closed -- Just like on our Primavera Mexican dress:

A view of the joined split-sleeve detail.

The Lijera Libre is currently available in XL with XXL sizes in the works.  Let us know what you think!

XL and XX Sizes Coming Soon!

One of our most popular styles, the iconic split sleeve "La Lijera" Mexican blouse will soon be available in XL and XX sizes.  Like the original, it features a vented bottom hem, joined split sleeve detail, and hand crochet trim all around.  100% cotton hand dyed and distressed for a timeworn flair; and finished with ornate hand embroidery that makes each top a wearable piece of art!

Like all of our tags and art, the XL tag is carved and stamped by hand to create a unique, vintage vibe.

We're doubly excited as this not only opens up more size options, but style options as well -- Wear one a size larger than you usually would and belt it at your natural waist and you have a beach cover-up with a decidedly Greecian-Goddess aesthetic.

Check back soon for more details!

Sirena Sol by Siren: Inventory Update

We have sold out of most styles and colors (as of today, May 25, 2012), but more are just a couple of days away from completion.  We're putting the finishing touches on them now.

Meticulously hand tailored, dyed and embroidered, the Sirena Sol collection embodies the spirit of adventure that we love about Mexico by recreating the iconic Oaxacan style blouses and embroidery made famous by the bohemian movement of the free-wheeling 1970's.  We're always inventing new styles and re-inventing the old, so be sure to check back often for the best selection!

Still available: The "Mallorca" (top) in black with red and purple embroidery.  Our customers like to describe it as "Pirate Wench Chic," with a gathered bottom hem, and ruffled, puff sleeves.  We also have a couple of green and royal blue "La Mariposa" blouses (above) in stock, which are directly based on the traditional Mexican-Poblana cut and embroidery patterns.

Don't hesitate to drop us a line if you have any questions!
